About me and Shiatsu (Qualifications and training)
I began to study Shiatsu
in 1994 with one of the UK's leading schools, The British School
of Shiatsu-Do. For the next four years I was guided and supervised
through many of the wide ranging aspects of Shiatsu by talented
and enthusiastic teachers/practitioners, before being examined and
assessed, and qualifying in 1998.
Following this I passed
the Shiatsu Society Assessment to achieve Member of the Register
of the Shiatsu Society (MRSS) status. This registration is the full
qualification of a Shiatsu practitioner in the UK. To maintain it,
I have to be bound by the Society's code of ethics and hold full
professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
About
me and Chi gung
My involvement with oriental
arts began with yoga in my youth, and later I developed an interest
in martial arts. This led me in 1990 to begin studying T'ai Chi,
which I hope to do for the rest of my life. The powerful health
giving effects of T'ai Chi aroused my interest in Chi gung, which
I have since developed alongside my study of Shiatsu, with the help
of a variety of teachers
